The Digital Age Project conference took place on 22 Nov at Park Avenue Hotel in East Belfast. To coincide with the launch of Year 3 of the programme and celebrate the successes of the project so far it was entitled ‘Generations GO!’ (Generations Get Online!)
The conference brought together over 100 delegates including partner organisations, project participants and a range of organisations from both public and voluntary sectors. The conference was supported by Eddie Lynch (Commissioner for Older People NI) and Koulla Yiasouma (NI Commissioner for Children and Young People) who addressed the guests showing their support for the ethos behind intergenerational work.
Representatives from all partner organisations (Ignite IT, Zenith IT Solutions, Go On NI, NIFHA and Learning and Work Institute) as well as lead organisation Linking Generations NI reflected on the successes of project so far and looked forward to developing year 3 of the project from November 2016.
Overall it was a wonderful day that captured the spirit of the Digital Age Project through lots of selfies, tweets and digital know-how mostly shown by the project participants who made great use of the free tablets available…..
The event was covered by Northern Visions TV and you can view the highlights of the day here:
