Erasmus: Archipelago of Generations Project
Archipelago of Generations: an Erasmus + international project
Archipelago of Generations project is led by our Polish partners Association ‘e’ and includes German partners The Kreisau Foundation. The aim of the project is to create an online intergenerational course based on BJF’s accredited ECIL course. The project has involved sharing learning across partner organisations on innovative ways of promoting age-friendly, intergenerational practice at community and policy level.
The project recently saw a study trip to Berlin. Vicki, Cathy (PSNI officer from Mid and east Antrim area) and Rebecca from Generations Working Together joined with community facilitators from Poland and Germany for a 5 day study trip to Berlin in April. The trip involved 2 days of workshops discussing intergenerational and community practice and then 2 days of visits to intergenerational best practice projects in Berlin.
The project has produced two key publications that we can use here in NI. One is a book of methods/ideas for working with intergenerational groups. The other is a book of case studies – interesting examples of intergenerational activity from Poland, Germany and UK.
These publications were made possible through our participation in an Erasmus + project with Association ‘ę’ from Poland and Kreisau Initiative from Germany and were launched at LGNI’s annual conference in October 2017. You can download these two documents below, both are available in a full version and an ‘easy print’ version which had no pictures and so uses less ink. We hope you will find them useful!
